First Lady Lisa Rodgers
Humanitarian, and community advocate Lisa Rodgers is a servant to the people and has become a champion for the underserved in the community. As First Lady of House of God Worship Center (HOGWC), she recognizes the need for relevant and heartfelt programs that service all people in the community. She founded the nonprofit organization Empowered to Change (ETC), with a mission to equip people to change their lives for the better.
Through ETC, Lisa has creatively developed a number of programs that are free to the public and currently ongoing which include: Empowered to Learn, an after-school program, HYPE University, Operation “We Win”, and Operation We CARE (Community Awareness Reaching Everyone). Operation We CARE, an annual initiative, provides the homeless with toiletries, food, clothing and other essential items needed to survive throughout the year. These endeavors have had such a tremendous impact on the community that she was selected for and currently holds the award “The Sigma Gamma Rho Woman of Excellence” in Hampton Virginia and surrounding cities.
